The Kelowna Minor Hockey AGM is set for 6:00 pm on Monday, May 29th at Okanagan Mission Community Hall, which is located at 4409 Lakeshore Road.

This year, KMHA is combining volunteer awards with the AGM, attending the AGM serves multiple purposes. It gives members a chance to hear about the year past, plans for the future and a chance to vote on the board members who are making decisions on the direction of the association.  Attendance is reviewed by BC Gaming throughout the approval process of our annual grant application. The higher percentage of membership in attendance, the more resources we can apply it to in our association.

We have 5 positions up for election this year.

  • President
  • 1st Vice President
  • 3rd Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Female Director

The position of President can only be filled by a individual who has previously sat on the board as per the KMHA Constitution. Our current 3rd VP, Dylan Michie, has put his name forward for the position. Other individuals who have previously sat on the board may also put their name forward.

For information on the duties of these positions, please refer to the KMHA Policies and Procedures Section 14 found here: https://www.kelownaminorhockey.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3441/2023/04/KMHA-Policy-Manual-2023-002.pdf

Our current 1st VP, Ian Lampshire, has chosen not to run for re-election to the board. Ian has been a KMHA board member for 4 years and KMHA thanks him for his time and invaluable hockey knowledge he has shared with us throughout his 2 terms.

Chris Kerr has put his name forward to run for treasurer. Chris has sat on the KMHA board for 2 terms.

Dan MacLeod will be stepping away from his Female Director position. Dan is the longest serving KMHA board member, just finishing his 10th year and 5 terms. Dan started as the 3rd vice president before moving to the Female Director position. Dan has been a real champion for the female program in his time with KMHA, while also being a vocal contributor in the direction the association has taken in general. He has put in many hours promoting the Female game within OMAHA, showing other associations in the district the success you can have when you commit to a program. We are all very grateful for Dan’s service to the association.

Anyone wishing to run for one of the open positions needs to submit their name by 6 pm Monday May 15th by email to execdir@kelmha.com.  Please provide your name, the position you want to run for and a small bio for us to post on the website.
