The following people have put their names forward for open KMHA board positions for this year’s AGM, Monday March 27  6 pm at OK Mission Hall

Kelly Olson – President

I was elected to the board in 2017 as 3rd Vice President looking after the Initiation/Novice divisions.  Prior to that I was the Initiation Director for the 2014/2015 season and then the Novice – Evans Director for the 2015/2016 season.  During this time I have met many families in the hockey community and have come to love working with the players of our future.

Originally from Calgary, my husband and I chose to relocate our family to the Okanagan as we were hoping to be able to become actively involved in our children’s school and extra-curricular activities as they got older rather than spending most our lives commuting to and from work.

Hockey has always been an active part of my life, from the time I was first born growing up with a father who loved to play goal, to watching my brother play, then my husband and now both of my kids.  In my free time, you can normally catch me at a rink watching our local teams.  My son is entering second year Atom and my daughter is entering first year Bantam.

I believe the love for any sport starts at the beginning and having the opportunity to be a part of the KMHA organization allows me to share my love for the sport as well as watch the young players grow within the KMHA organization.

Ian Lampshire – 1st Vice President

I am very interested in getting involved with the Kelowna Minor Hockey Executive and I am running for the 1st Vice President –Bantam and Midget position.

I have been involved in hockey for most of my life. In that time I have had amazing experiences and met so many great people.

I was lucky enough to have played hockey at a decently high level; junior, university and semiprofessional. These experiences helped to give me opportunity to coach hockey at the university level as the Assistant Coach of the Men’s Varsity Hockey Team, at the University of British Columbia, for around 5 years.

Even though I gained so much experience in my time coaching at UBC, it was coaching hockey for my two boys, from Initiation to peewee, and helping coach my daughter’s youth soccer, that taught me the most. These years have really taught me the importance of keeping things in perspective and making sure these boys and girls are in an environment that supports learning, development (on and off the ice), hard work and fun.

I have a degree in human kinetics and have also worked in the sport conditioning world, coaching and developing hockey players from Bantam to professional hockey, both on and off the ice.

I would love to be involved and help out the board of directors wherever I can and hopefully my experiences can add to the already strong group of people.

Tracy Muise – Risk Management and Safety

Tracy joined the KMHA Board last year as The Risk Management and Safety Director; she hopes to return for another term and continue developing her role.

Tracy has two boys; Easton is 10 and Evan 14! They moved from Edmonton in 2017 and are thankful to the hockey community that has led to many wonderful friendships.

Dan MacLeod – Director at Large – Female

Dan has served on the board for 4 seasons, beginning with a 2 year term as 3rd Vice President. For the last 2 years he has been a Director at Large, looking after Female hockey within KMHA. Dan  is very committed to growing the Female game and ensuring that girls have every opportunity available to them.

Chris Kerr – Treasurer

Chris is the owner/manager of an accounting firm in Kelowna and has been very active in hockey as both a player and a coach.  Chris is originally from Prince George but spent time in Chilliwack, Alaska and Vancouver where he attended UBC and met his wife.  Chris and his wife decided to move to Kelowna shortly after their third child was born and have since enjoyed the lifestyle the Okanagan has to offer.
