Kelowna Chiefs Take Home Silver in the 53rd Annual Coquitlam Atom PUP Tournament -- A1 Division!

A tumultuous weekend to say the least; after several highway closures and waffling about braving the poor road conditions, the Atom A Chiefs took to the road and made it to Coquitlam just in time for the opening game against the Victoria Racquet Club A1 team—minus one goalie and four players that could not quite make it in time.

The Chiefs went 0-2-1 in round robin play and faced an uphill battle through backdoor to the finals. We dismantled a very tough Coquitlam A1 team 5-2 in the Quarterfinals, then went on to face the Abbotsford A1 Hawks in the Semifinals. The team dug deep and cruised to an 8-3 win to head to the Gold Medal Game.

The Chiefs once again battled hard right to the final seconds. After leading a very exciting game 1-0 until midway through the final frame, a persistent Victoria Racquet Club pushed us to the limit and squeaked out a victory.

The coaching staff is extremely proud of our players, parents and families! Thanks for a great weekend! All players bared down when we needed it most and played like Champions!
