Already in a position where they could not be surpassed, the Kelowna Peewee A Female Rockets were presented with the North Okanagan Peewee Super League banner prior to their final game in Lumby on Saturday, February 11.

Following the banner presentation they played that final game , a grueling battle vs. Lumby resulting in a 4-4 tie to finish the regular season with an impressive 15-1-2 record.

In his update to the league on January 29, Gene Anderson, NOSL Scheduler communicated the significance of the Rockets win:
“I would like to congratulate the Kelowna Rockets on clinching first place in the super league regular season standings. The super league started out as a regional Pee Wee league in 1996 – 97 (the other age groups were added later) and I have been around the league since 2002. We have never had a female team win a banner before now and I think this is a boost for female hockey. Well done. Gene”

The girls now move on the the NOSL Playoffs with their first game Friday, February 17 at Vernon Civic Arena, puck drop at 5:30 pm. Opponent TBA as the final 2 games of the regular season to determine seeding go today in Lumby and Vernon.
