KMHA MEMBERS - HOPE YOU CAN ALL HELP OUT

KMHA Families - Your help is needed:

A 7 year old KMHA player is battling a very are form of Lymphoma in BC Children's hospital.  This young boy is an avid Canucks fan, an enthusiastic teamate to his KMHA friends, and normally a real going concern.  While battling cancer this little boy will not be able to come home to Kelowna.  His family expects that it will be June before he is ready to return.  This has put a huge strain on the family both physically, emotionally, and financially as the parents split their time between Kelowna and Vancouver.  The family has two other young boys who also are association members playing in our Novice program.

Mission Sports has obtained a signed Reebok jersey from the 2009/10 Vancouver Canucks team.  Each team member has taken the time to sign the jersey.  Tim and Scott at Mission have also received from Vaughn Canada a goalie stick autographed by Mikka Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames and a photo with the Stanley Cup autographed by Ryan Getzlaf.  Mission Sports are using all of these items as an incentive to get donations in aid of this family in their time of need.

Each person donating funds to this cause will receive a ballot for these prizes.  Donations will be graciously accepted at Mission Sports at 1855 Kischner Road or at the KMHA office at 1420 Ellis Street.  Every donation big or small will get you a ballot for these incredible prizes.  Winners will be contacted over the phone.

Your odds of winning are great and your support is immeasurable.  Lets show this family how much KMHA cares!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Scott Landry at 250-763-7499 or 250-215-6711.

The Junior Rockets are OMAHA playoff Champions!!

03/01/2010

After winning their opening series against Kamloops 2-0 in a best of 3 games series, the Junior Rockets faced off against Penticton in the second game of the series at Penticton Memorial Arena yesterday after winning the first game of the series in Kelowna last weekend 7-3.

In what was the most exciting game of the playoffs so far, the play was fast and furious and the score very close. With a 3-3 tie going into the third period, David London and Cory Hochhausen scored 7 seconds apart to give Kelowna a 2 goal lead with 5 minutes left in the game. Penticton's Jordan Boultbee scored at the 18:13 mark to give the large crowd  a thrilling last minute of play. Kelowna eventually prevailed with a 5-4 score and are now the OMAHA playoff Champions.

The Junior Rockets are on their way to the Midget Tier 1 Provincial Championship in Ridge Meadows March 7-12, 2010.

If you would like any comments or have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Head Coach Brent Gilchrist #250-808-8383.

Thank you so much for your interest in our team.
